This Mother’s Day, it is worth pausing to recognize that some of the most meaningful lessons about money are not taught through lectures, but through love, consistency, and example.

A mom’s influence often shows up in the quiet moments: choosing patience over impulse, showing gratitude, teaching that money is not something to chase but something to steward with care and intention.

Long before kids understand investing or wealth, they pick up on behavior. They watch how decisions are made, how generosity is expressed, and how priorities are set.

Those small, everyday moments shape how they will think, act, and lead for the rest of their lives.

Behind many strong financial habits is a mom who modeled discipline, perspective, and purpose.

Today we celebrate the women who are not just raising families but shaping futures in ways that will last for generations.

In honor of Small Business Week this week, here’s what my time in roofing taught me about business and managing wealth: https://theweddleteam.com/what-roofing-taught-me-about-business-and-managing-wealth/

If you own a business, three questions may be worth asking:
• Where are you fighting your design instead of leveraging your strengths?
• What lives only in your head that belongs in a checklist?
• Are your customers merely served—or made to feel important?

Libby had an adventurous day taking her high school sophomore on her first official college visit! It’s never too early to start visiting schools and allowing dreams to be envisioned in different places. What they learned on this first run: you will be surprised by little program details you didn’t know were offered! Write a pros and cons list the same day after the visit when it’s fresh on your mind. Engage the tour guide students with all the questions! They have the real answers on what it’s like.

Libby’s bonus on this trip? Seeing the real coffee shop and promenade that the book Theo of Golden is based on!!! Her favorite book of the year so far. If you know, you know. Want a road trip? Columbus, GA is worth the visit!

Things are ever-changing of course in the events with Iran, but I wanted to share thoughts I wrote out at the end of the week last week. Curious how others are viewing this and how my reflections here inform or intersect with your thoughts. - Tim

I don’t claim to be a military strategist, but like many of you, I do pay attention to history. There are a few glaring deficiencies that I see in the current strategy on Iran. The first is allowing Iranian oil to flow freely out of the Strait of Hormuz, and for tankers to flow freely […]

On International Women’s Day, we think about all the incredible women in our lives – those family members, clients, and friends who make an incredible impact on our lives being who they were created to be day in and day out. We also think about our team members who bring their best each day and truly make our world a brighter place. We’re thankful for these amazing women!

Krista - Financial Advisor

The level of trust our clients put in Krista is a testament to her knowledge, professionalism and great work with each of them. The thing I’m most grateful for about Krista is that she’s helped bring women into the conversation about their own wealth and future. And not just into the conversation…into confidence, into courage, and into control. They all see the same confidence and care. But mostly they see a great advisor who asks good questions and listens to them, always empowering them to choose the direction that’s good for them. She is a gift.

Sarah - Account Administrator

I’m so grateful for Sarah’s blend of calm self-assuredness and this insane initiative to be “eyes up” for anything that’s even remotely related to what a client needs. She knocks out the action items and then seem to be immediately aware of the second- and third- tier possibilities. We just know, if we give it to Sarah, it’ll get done! And as important as this all is, her consistently positive and kind personality is the true magic that makes people want to work with her. Thankful for the high character and energy she brings to our team and clients. It’s so great getting to work with her.

Tae - Administrative Assistant

It’s not every day we meet someone whose knowledge of the life insurance industry rivals Mark Weddle’s, but here she is. 😊 I so enjoy having someone so professional and capable helping on these cases, looking for things we might have missed, seeing where we are trying to go and helping us get there. She’s also helped me a ton in organizing my professional life by trimming my inbox, moving stuff to the calendar, and keeping me on track. More importantly, her constant positivity and creativity that she brings to the team is a great source of energy.

Libby - Practice Manager

The unfair advantage we have enjoyed by having her as our EOS coach the last several years has been a driver in our success, and more importantly, in our team cohesion. She has an impressive focus on development of people inside their unique abilities, and a refreshing commitment to Strategic Coach concepts. This makes growth not only easier, but also more fun. I am thankful that she doesn’t allow herself or anyone around her to settle for second best when she has a clear vision for the best way. I am thankful as well for her deep character and integrity. Life and work are hard enough as they are, and so it makes everything a bit easier knowing we can trust her completely.
