A day in Miami looked like this.

The slow morning was intentional. The expo was work I actually wanted to do. The body treatment was not a treat; it was already scheduled. And dinner was with people who remind me why all of it matters.

People ask me how I can travel and take time without the financial guilt following me around. The honest answer is that I built the business to make this possible. One choice at a time.

I have been at Scaling New Heights since yesterday, and I already know this conference has been worth every minute of the trip.

Day two and the energy in this room has not slowed down once.

Yesterday I sat in a session about AI that gave me something I have not been able to stop thinking about: AI is not the end of accounting.

The narrative around AI is that it is coming for our jobs. I have never believed that. What I do believe is that AI is a tool and in the right hands, it is one of the most powerful ones this profession has ever seen. That room confirmed it for me.

In the middle of it all, I had my first virtual check-in with one of my team members since she came back from maternity leave. Some things just remind you what it is all about 💙

And then there were the people. Luis Aigaje, LaWanda Benefield, Hope Brown, and Jeanne Hardy. So good to run into you here!

The ideas, the connections, the moments you did not plan for. This is exactly what Scaling New Heights is for.

People expect me to say I used to lose sleep over my numbers. That the stress was real, and then something clicked.

That is not my story.

What I carried was a different kind of question: Is this business actually going to sustain itself? Is it going to fund the life I want, not just cover the bills?

I had savings. I had a plan. But savings do not last forever, and I knew it. So the question stayed with me until I found the answer.

I did. And that shift, from carrying the question to knowing the answer, is what I want every founder I work with to feel.

Not because they struggled. Because they built something real, and they deserve to know it is working for them.

Can I ask you something?

When was the last time you sat still and money was not the first thing that came to mind?

For a long time I chased the number I thought would finally bring me peace. A bigger year. A better milestone. And then the next one after that. The finish line kept moving.

What actually brought the peace wasn't exactly a big number. It was knowing. Knowing the business is sustainable. Knowing it runs without me white-knuckling every decision. Knowing the people I love are taken care of not just this month but for real.

That is what financially unbothered actually means to me.

Something stayed with me after speaking yesterday.

I ran a simple exercise: pair up, learn one challenge your partner is facing, offer whatever help you can. An introduction, a resource, an idea.

Within minutes the room was doing something most people spend years trying to figure out. They were building real relationships, not collecting contacts.

A network isn't powerful because of how many people you know. It's powerful because of how willing you are to open doors for each other.
