Dani Schwader, EA, is entering her 34th year of tax planning and preparation, the last 22 with her own firm.

Whether you are starting a business, transitioning a business to the next generation, planning for your child’s education or funding your retirement, we have the tools to guide you to the right decision for you. Previously, she was associated with law and accounting firms. Dani completes at least 44 hours of professional development each year to keep on the cutting edge of tax law changes that matter to her clients. She believes that planning ahead is crucial to saving tax dollars. Besides tax planning and preparation services, Dani has helped numerous clients transition their businesses into the next generation and aided in planning exit strategies as the older generation looks toward retirement. The office is fully staffed and open Monday through Friday, December 1st through April 30th of every tax season. During the off- season varying office hours are available and appointments can also be made.

And that is true!!
I have to hand it to my friend Nance who said in September that there was no way we would be in our office by October 15th. You were right, I was wrong.

I am very sorry that our move is taking far longer than we anticipated. This is not how I anticipated this going and my frustration has turned to anxiety and panic attacks.

With limited resources we were still able to get this month’s payroll reports mailed. Those of you affected be on the lookout in your mailbox.

Once we are in the building, and staff is confident and has found all their pencils and staplers, our priority will become year-end tax advisory. We are NOT taking appointments at this time as we have no meeting space. Soon, hopefully soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Yesterday was the final hurrah on my 36th tax season. Say it isn’t so!!

I’m looking forward to the next tax seasons with excitement, anticipation, and sadly, frustration.

We are excited to be moving into our new location, 1114 S. Washington Avenue, in the lower level of the new Madison Family Dentistry building.

We are anticipating teaching you all how to use the new tools we have been training ourselves to use. You will be able to sign engagement letters and tax returns electronically, do your organizers online and if you have no online presence, we can help you with those things from the office.

While it is frustrating for us to not be in the building as promised, progress has been rapid and once we get the okay, we will be in and ready to go quickly. We have been told next week is the target.

We can hardly wait!!

We are cruising to completion… since this was taken, flooring install has begun, paint touch-ups were completed, BUT that big, big open spot for an entrance door is missing a door! It is the only item that is not on-site for installation and will hold up our projected occupation date of October 15th.

We cannot get the okie-dokie to move in until the city says it’s okie-dokie. So, we are probably not going to be in the office by October 15th. It is what it is. There’s nothing anyone can do about it so we are going to pivot.

We still have no phones but you can always reach us through your portal. We will have a mailing coming soon with your invitation to come in, tour, and sit down with us while we walk you through the upgrades to our technology, security, and communications that we have needed for a long time.

The bittersweet, scary, exciting day has come. After 18 years we have left the building. Most of you have seen how crowded this building has become and when the right opportunity became available we had to take the chance. While we are moving on, the insurance side of the space is staying put and has plans to expand into the whole building and freshen up the space a bit. This is bittersweet and exciting for the Dorris family as well!

As of October 1, we are in a transition period and will remain closed. Since we have no physical location our phones are not in service at this time. Our new office space is being prepped for us and we hope to see you from our new spot at 1114 S. Washington Ave. If things go as planned (!) we will be able to open the new doors on October 15th.

A reminder that this FRIDAY, September 25th is the LAST DAY we are open in our current location. We will be packing up to make the move to our NEW LOCATION! We are looking forward to serving you from our new offices at 1114 S. Washington Avenue as soon as we can, tentatively October 15th.

Not tax related but if you consistently reach the upper limits of payments and you are structured as an LLC or S-Corp, you need to look into this before deadline tomorrow.

A little hint of what’s coming next.

Be looking in your mailbox for the details. I would open this letter, if I were you; you might get left behind if you don’t.

This week we will be contacting those that owe us information to finish up 2025 tax returns. If there’s no way you can be ready to complete your return in the next 5 days, there’s likely no way we can help you.

Reminder for quarterly estimated tax payers…. Third quarter payment is due September 15th. Payments are expected to be made electronically. Go to www.irs.gov/payments to make your payment.

Tuesday September 15 is the FINAL DEADLINE for business entity returns-1065, 1120-S- on extension to be filed without penalty. If you still owe us information, your time has run out. We’re here til 5-ish today September 11. Dani is out of the office for doctor appointments pretty much all day on the 14th. Today is probably “it” to get us information.

There are other extended returns out there- 1040’s- that need to be filed soon. We are closing the doors for good on our current location on September 25th. We need to have everything done by then. September 18 is the last day to get info on to us to be completed before we make our big move in October.

The time has come…school is out and summer jobs have started. Most weeks, the phone doesn’t even ring. We’re like Maytag repairmen that way.
