Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our client friends and their families. 2019 was an exciting year for the Ford Mays Wealth Management family - new team members and a new building! A special thanks to Kevin Foster of Foster Construction and his team for building such a quality space on-time and under-budget. Also we appreciate all the work Dale Davis, of Dale Davis Designs, did to make our space so inviting, comfortable, and attractive. If you haven't been able to come visit yet, here are a few pics for your enjoyment! We wish you all the prosperity and enjoyment that's possible for you in 2020.

With so many of our clients near or already in retirement, we thought this article was worth a read.

Rip currents turn deadly because of how swimmers respond to them. Their natural reaction is to try and swim against the strong current. However, since it is estimated that a rip current can pull a swimmer out to sea at a rate of ten feet per second, there is little chance for this approach to work.

It's always helpful to adopt good retirement saving behavior. Enjoy!

When it comes to retirement, we often don’t behave right. It’s not that we throw a tantrum when we see percentage signs or big numbers. The big problem is that we rarely have an emotional connection to them, so we don’t behave wisely.

Thinking about your legacy is a worthy exercise.

Leaving a legacy — sounds like something only wealthy people can do, right? Like making a giant bequest to a university or passing on a significant estate to your children. Actually, though, leaving a legacy is not necessarily about money.

Construction has begun for the new Ford Mays Wealth Management building, and we held a ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the start of the project. We plan to be in the building before the end of the summer! We won't be moving far, as we're building right next door to our current location.

What a joy to partner with Ben Crosswhite & Muscle Maker Grill Lynchburg to bring some extra cheer this holiday season! We love Miller Home of Lynchburg!

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch today from Muscle Maker Grill Lynchburg courtesy of Ford Mays Wealth Management. Not only was the food excellent, we spent some time talking with Jesse Stephens and Ben Crosswhite who joined us for lunch. Thank you for the treat!
