As we enter 2026, we extend best wishes to everyone!

Now that 2026 is here, we will begin the final preparations for all the new changes in the tax code. As you are aware, there are several and they are not straightforward. They can affect individuals different. This is not the year to rely on basing your return on what happened to a friend or neighbor received. With these changes also, we will be taking steps to ensure we understand each of your tax situation fully and all of your questions are answered.

As a reminder, effective Sept. 30, 2025, the IRS will begin phasing out issuing paper checks for refunds and receiving paper checks for payments. This will require taxpayer's to direct deposit refunds and direct withdrawal any taxes owed going forward. Please make preparations now for this new change.

IR-2025-94, Sept. 23, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service, working with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, today announced that paper tax refund checks for individual taxpayers will be phased out beginning on Sept. 30, 2025, as required by Executive Order 14247, to the extent permitted by law.

IR-2025-114, Nov. 21, 2025 — The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service today issued guidance for workers eligible to claim the deduction for tips and for overtime compensation for tax year 2025.

The Christmas season is almost here so be sure to add the Lucasville Christmas Tree lighting to your schedule. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, November 30th and begin at 5:00PM. In addition to the tree lighting there will be a Kids Activity Tent, free food and drink provided by local businesses and of course Santa Claus will make an appearance so the children can give him their lists.
