Form 1099-K - Payment card and online marketplace transactions

Under the guidance TPSOs, third-party settlement organizations, also known as payment apps and online marketplaces, will be required to report transactions when the amount of total payments is more than $5,000 in 2024; more than $2,500 in 2025; and more than $600 in calendar year 2026 and after.

It’s important for taxpayers to understand why they received a Form 1099-K and how to use it along with their other records to figure and report the correct amount of income on their tax return.
