This week, Partner & Director of Investments, Jason Sterrett CFA, CFP®, CPA, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charter holder, and the Capitalis Planning Partners team were proud to once again sponsor the CFA Institute Research Challenge hosted by the CFA Society Louisville. Jason also served as one of the competition judges.

The Research Challenge is an annual global competition that connects university students with investment professionals from within the CFA Society® network. The competition provides students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and ethics and tests participants' analytical, valuation, reporting writing, and presentation skills.

The 2026 Research Challenge winner was the team from Centre College – congratulations to Carlie Mitchell, Jonah Jackson, Ty Bush, and Omkar Zarikar!

We were so impressed by the participants from each school, and we look forward to watching their future successes.

We’re excited to welcome a new team member, Jaelyn Young! Jaelyn is joining our team as a Financial Planning Analyst.

Jaelyn graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Mathematics, Sociology, and a Certificate of Applied Data Analytics. She then graduated from the Tulane University – A.B. Freeman School of Business with a Master of Business Analytics. Prior to joining Capitalis Planning Partners, Jaelyn worked as a Data Analyst at a national commercial construction and infrastructure company.

Jaelyn will be supporting our financial planning and data analytics functions, and she has made an instant impact after joining our team. As data and analytics continue to play a larger role in supporting our commitment to our client’s financial planning and success, we are incredibly excited for her to join the Capitalis Planning Partners family with her specialized skills.
