The deadline to act centers on massive changes to federal student loans under the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act that Congress passed (and President Trump signed) last summer. The bill eliminates several affordable student loan repayment plan options tied to a borrower’s income, and narrows the pathways to eventual loan forgiveness.
