New Sales and Use Tax Rates Effective April 1, 2026
California voters recently approved the district tax changes listed below. These rate changes only apply within the indicated city or county limits. Additionally, voters in certain areas have extended citywide and countywide district taxes that were set to expire. The new tax rates, tax codes, and expiration dates will be available to view and download as a spreadsheet on our webpage, California City & County Sales & Use Tax Rates, beginning March 1, 2026.

1. New Deductions for Overtime and Tips
Starting in 2025, you can deduct up to $12,500 for individual overtime pay and $25,000 for joint filers, along with a $25,000 deduction for tips, reducing taxable income through 2028.
