The IRS just released its annual "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams—and AI-enabled phone scams and IRS impersonation topped the list this year.
⚠️ Red flags to watch:
→ Unsolicited texts/emails claiming to be from the IRS
→ Robocalls with spoofed caller IDs demanding immediate payment
→ Requests to click links about your "tax refund"
✅ Real IRS communication rule: The IRS NEVER contacts you via text, email, or social media first.
If you received a suspicious message:
1. Don't click any links
2. Manually type IRS.gov in your browser
3. Forward phishing emails to [email protected]
