Vote against the Little Rock Sales Tax Increase
November 5TH, 2024
This page is to help stop yet another sales tax increase being placed on the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas. VOTE AGAINST HIGHER TAXES MAY 12TH
The millage tax increase scheduled on May 12th of 5.6 mills would make the average overall millage rate in the Pulaski County Special School District from 40.7 to 46.3 mills. Arkansa
s is one of the highest taxes states in a nation that is over $18 trillion in debt! Yet the AR Education Commissioner Tony Wood, who approved this millage tax, still made over $231,000 in 2014. This $12 million a year for 30 years tax plan would go to a $221 million school building and renovation program, that also includes 20.8 $million in state aid. PCSSD failed to maintain their buildings due to corruption that required the State of Arkansas to take them over in 2011. Superintendent Jerry Guess, who makes $215,000.00, is guilt-tripping taxpayers to pay for the mistakes of education bureaucrats. The PCSSD is supporting Common Core, a big government/business education program that has many problems. Common Core supporters like the Gates Foundation could easily fund the building projects proposed by this tax increase, but they would rather tax Pulaski County citizens & other Arkansas taxpayers.
