Here are some answers to Stimulus checks questions.

When will IRS be releasing the first Economic Impact Payments (EI Payments/Stimulus Payments)?

For taxpayers whom IRS has direct deposit information; the IRS expects to release the first round of payments the week of April 13, 2020.
For taxpayers who will be receiving their EI Payment by check mailed from IRS; the IRS expects to begin issuing paper checks the week of May 4, 2020.

With the Senate’s approval Wednesday of the stimulus package, many people are wondering how these payments will impact our business, our customers, and how they will be facilitated. Details surrounding the package indicate that a taxpayer‘s 2019 tax return will be used to determine their eligibility and the amount of their payment. If a taxpayer has yet to file their 2019 return, the 2018 return will be used. The applicable tax return will also be used to determine how eligible taxpayers‘ stimulus payments will be distributed to them. If the taxpayer elected to receive their tax refund directly from IRS in the form of a check, the IRS intends to also mail the stimulus check directly to the taxpayer. If the taxpayer elected for direct deposit of their 2019 tax refund, the stimulus payment will be sent direct deposit. The package details released thus far do not specify if direct deposit information will be honored for taxpayers who elected to use a refund transfer product (bank product).

NO DEAL YET ON STIMULUS PACKAGE

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Sunday that there’s “no deal” yet on a massive stimulus package.

"We’ll be introducing our own bill,” said Pelosi, D-Calif.

We’ll have to wait this week until congress approves the deal.
