It is with deep sadness and immense gratitude that we remember Amy Ely, a cherished member of the Dooley and Company family since 1994. A proud Clemson Tiger and our only valedictorian to date, Amy brought not just academic excellence, but humility, grace, and steadfast dedication to everything she touched. She smiled biggest when sharing stories of her husband, Dennis, and four children Jacob, Caleb, Luke, and Abby who we have all got to watch grow into fine young adults.

Amy hailed from the close-knit town of Saluda, South Carolina—a place that clearly shaped her quiet strength and unshakable dependability. From the day she walked through our doors more than three decades ago, Amy became the heart of our firm. She gave generously of her time and talents, whether trekking across the state on audit jobs or burning the midnight oil without a cross word. Her tireless work ethic remained unchanged even this year, as she faithfully worked through April 15th, despite the toll her health was taking.

Beyond her technical skill and brilliance, Amy was the rare kind of colleague who makes a workplace feel like home. She was a kind and patient mentor to dozens of staff over the years—always willing to teach, to listen, and to guide with quiet encouragement. Her legacy lives on in the many professionals she shaped with her steady presence and generous spirit.

Amy Ely wasn’t just dependable—she was the bedrock of who we are. We will miss her warmth, her wisdom, and her unwavering calm in the storm. And we will carry forward the lessons she taught us, both in work and in life.

Amy, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you've kept the faith. Rest well in His arms.
