Accounting automation only pays off if the numbers you get out the other end are ones you actually trust.

The best place to start is with repetitive, structured tasks like invoice processing, reconciliations, and expense categorization. They're time-consuming, rules-based, and easy to measure against records you already have.

But automating the task doesn't mean automating the judgment. Keep human approvals in place, experienced eyes on exceptions, and track your results before deciding to scale.

October is Financial Planning Month, and for business owners the timing is hard to ignore.

There's still a full quarter left in the year, which means there's time to act on what the numbers are telling you, instead of finding out at tax time. A few conversations worth having before December:
