The Final Deadline of 2024

Today marks the end of the last tax deadline of the tax year 2024. It has been an incredibly busy and fulfilling season, and I am truly grateful. Every single one of my clients has become part of my Miss Tax family. I feel deeply blessed to do what I love, to protect your rights, and to give my absolute best in every preparation.
After an intense year, I’m taking a well-deserved break. I will be out from today until October 20th. I’ll be back on October 20th and will keep the office open until November 15th. After that, Miss Tax LLC will close until January 15th, when we reopen for the 2025 tax season.
Thank you all for your trust, loyalty, and support throughout this year. I wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with peace, love, and meaningful moments with your loved ones. I’ll be here waiting to serve you again when we reopen.

With gratitude and love ❤️,

Gabriela Burger

Tax Season: You were a beast… but we tamed you.
I’m standing (barely) — heart full ❤️, soul beyond exhausted 😵‍💫, but my gratitude? Overflowing 📈✨

To my amazing clients: THANK YOU 🙏 for your trust, your patience, your chaos 🧾, and your stories. Thank you for letting me be part of something so personal and important to your lives. I worked long days and nights 🌙☕ to serve each of you with all the care and heart I have — and knowing you saw that means the world to me 💛.

Thank you also for the beautiful messages, kind words, gifts, treats 🎁🍪, and thoughtful gestures that reminded me I wasn't just working… I was appreciated.

To my incredible children: thank you for being my biggest motivation 👩‍👧‍👦, for loving me even when I was running on empty ⛽, and for understanding when mama had to work late (again) 🖥️🕰️.

To my family and my beautiful friends: you checked in on me, encouraged me, and reminded me to breathe 🫶. You’re my anchor ⚓.

And now for a very special shout-out to Fran — our nanny, our friend, our family 👩‍👧‍👦🌟. A key piece of this season’s survival. You held down the fort, kept the kids smiling, and made it possible for me to do what I do. I truly could not have done it without you.

Now it’s time for rest, wine, and maybe a little dancing 💃🍷.
Extensions... I’ll be seeing you soon 🧾🗂️.

With love, coffee ☕, and a calculator finally getting some well-deserved break 🧮💤.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you🙏

I’m beyond grateful for the trust you've placed in me in who I am and the work I do. Your support has truly changed my life. These past few months have been intense: working non-stop, 7 days a week, with only 3 days off in 3 months. Every sacrifice I make is for my children as a single mother, as an independent woman, and as someone fully committed to serving others. I thank God for the strength to keep going.
We’re now in the final stretch: Tax season ends April 15. Please note, I am no longer taking appointments this week my calendar is fully booked. But if you need an extension or you’ve already chosen to continue with my services, feel free to call or message me. I’m here for you.
I’ll keep providing the quality service and tax knowledge our community deserves. I love serving you and standing up for your rights as a taxpayer. Thank you for everything.❤️

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) continues to enforce various regulations aimed at combating financial crimes. However, there have been recent adjustments to specific reporting requirements:

Beneficial Ownership Reporting: As of March 21, 2025, FinCEN issued an interim final rule removing the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to report beneficial ownership information under the Corporate Transparency Act. This change exempts domestic entities from these reporting obligations.

Suspension of Penalties: The Treasury Department announced on March 2, 2025, that it would not enforce penalties or fines associated with the beneficial ownership information reporting rule against U.S. citizens or domestic reporting companies.

Despite these specific adjustments, FinCEN continues to enforce other anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing regulations. For instance, financial institutions are still required to file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) for cash transactions exceeding $10,000 and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for transactions that may indicate illegal activity.

Additionally, the IRS Criminal Investigation division has launched the CI-FIRST program to modernize its response to financial crimes, particularly those involving technology and AI. This initiative aims to enhance data-sharing with banks and accelerate investigations into financial crimes linked to drug trafficking, human smuggling, and other illegal activities.

In summary, while certain reporting requirements have been relaxed, FinCEN and related agencies continue to enforce regulations designed to safeguard the financial system from illicit activities.

🚀 Best Practices for Schedule C Filers – Maximize Your Deductions & Stay Audit-Ready! 📊💼

If you're self-employed or a small business owner, Schedule C is where you report your business income and expenses. To keep more of your hard-earned money and avoid IRS red flags, follow these best practices:

✅ Keep Detailed Records – Maintain organized receipts, invoices, bank statements, and digital records of all business-related transactions. Good bookkeeping saves you headaches later!

✅ Separate Business & Personal Finances – Use a dedicated business bank account & credit card to keep your finances clean. This simplifies tax prep and supports your deductions.

✅ Track All Expenses – Every legitimate business expense counts! Common deductions include:
💻 Home office (if exclusively used for business)
🚗 Mileage & vehicle expenses (keep a log!)
📱 Business phone & internet costs
🛠️ Equipment & supplies
🗂️ Professional fees & education

✅ Report ALL Income – The IRS gets copies of 1099s issued to you, so don’t forget to include every source of income on your return.

✅ Understand the Qualified Business Income Deduction (QBI) – Many small business owners qualify for a 20% deduction on net profit. Ask if you’re eligible!

✅ Plan for Self-Employment Taxes – Set aside money for taxes, as self-employed individuals pay 15.3% in Social Security & Medicare taxes. Consider quarterly estimated payments to avoid penalties.

✅ Work with a Tax Pro – Tax laws change, and missing a deduction or misreporting income can be costly. A tax professional can help maximize your deductions and keep you compliant!
