It’s a new year, and that means… tax season is officially here.
I’ve been doing taxes for over 20 years, but this marks just my third season of Hilltop Taxes — and I want to take a moment to say thank you. To every client, friend, referral, and supporter who trusted me, cheered me on, or helped spread the word… I wouldn’t be here without you.
I’m heading into this tax season feeling confident, focused, and genuinely excited to do the work. Taxes don’t have to feel scary or overwhelming, and my goal has always been to bring clarity, honesty, and a little calm to the process.
A few big things to keep an eye on this year:
• No federal tax on certain tips and overtime — eligible workers can deduct tip and overtime income on their 2025 return.
• New senior deduction — if you’re 65 or older, you may qualify for an extra deduction.
• Standard deduction + brackets increased — IRS inflation adjustments mean more income stays tax-free.
