💡 TAX FACT: Your tax preparation fee is for the professional service provided, NOT based on whether you receive a refund or owe taxes.
Just like you pay an attorney for legal services or a doctor for medical care, a tax professional is paid for preparing and filing your return accurately according to tax law.
Your refund (or balance due) is determined by:
✔️ Your income
✔️ Your withholding
✔️ Your tax credits
✔️ Your deductions
✔️ Your individual tax situation
Tax preparers do not control whether you receive a refund or owe the IRS.
Many taxpayers who are self-employed, receive 1099 income, or have insufficient withholding from their W-2 may owe taxes at filing time. That balance is owed to the IRS—not to your tax preparer.
Our fees are based on the complexity of the return and the forms required, never on a percentage of your refund. In fact, charging based on a percentage of a refund is prohibited for tax professionals.
We're here to prepare your return accurately, maximize the deductions and credits you're legally entitled to, and help you stay compliant with tax laws.
Thank you for trusting us with your tax needs. ❤️
