Trust usually starts before the first conversation.

When someone sits down with a financial advisor for the first time, chances are they've already formed an impression.

They may have looked at your website. Read a few of your posts. Checked your background. Maybe even asked someone they trust about you.

And I think that's a good thing.

After more than 20 years in this profession, I've learned that people aren't just looking for someone who understands investments. They want someone who will listen, explain things clearly, ask the right questions, and tell them what they need to hear, not simply what they want to hear.

Credentials matter. Experience matters. Knowledge matters.

But so do clarity, consistency, and trust.

That's one reason I believe financial professionals should spend more time educating and less time selling.

A prospective client should be able to get a pretty good sense of who you are and how you think before ever walking through your door.

And when that first conversation finally happens?

It shouldn't feel like a sales presentation.

It should feel like the beginning of a conversation worth having.

What makes you trust a professional before you've ever met them?

Hiring great employees is hard. Keeping them can be even harder.

While salary matters, many employees also value benefits that help them plan for the future. For small businesses, a SIMPLE IRA can be an affordable retirement plan that's easy to establish and administer.

Sometimes, a small investment in your team's future can make a lasting difference.

Curious whether a SIMPLE IRA or another retirement plan might be a good fit for your business? Let's start the conversation.

You treat your employees like family. Are you helping them build a future like family, too?

Many small business owners assume retirement plans are too expensive or too complicated. The reality is there are several options designed specifically for small businesses, and a traditional 401(k) isn't the only choice.

Whether you have a handful of employees or a growing team, offering a retirement plan may be more achievable than you think. It can be a meaningful way to invest in the people who help make your business successful.

Fraudsters are increasingly posing as Google Security representatives and claiming your Google account has been compromised.

They may sound convincing. Some even send emails that appear legitimate to gain your trust. Their goal is simple: get you to click a link, provide a verification code, or approve a login request.

Remember:

✅ Google will not call you out of the blue to verify your account.
✅ Never share a 6-digit verification code with anyone who contacts you.
✅ Do not click links sent by unsolicited callers.
✅ If you're concerned about your account, go directly to your Google account settings and security page yourself.

When in doubt, hang up and verify independently.

A healthy dose of skepticism can save you from becoming the next victim.

Google states that verification codes are intended only for the account holder and should never be shared with anyone claiming to be support personnel. Always access your account directly through Google's official website rather than links provided by unsolicited contacts.

That yellow section? That's money you never saved, your money made it for you.

This is compound interest in action. Start with $1,000/year at a hypothetical 5 percent return, and by year 30, you've built nearly $70,000. But the real story is the yellow: Interest earning interest.

Year 1: almost no interest at all.
Year 30: the interest on your interest alone might cover a year of car payments (or more).

You don't need to invest more. You need to stay focused on your strategy. What's one financial habit you wish you'd started earlier? Drop it below. 👇
