SEEKING FINANCIAL ADVICE
In the 2023 Financial Confidence Survey from
Unbiased, only a third of respondents felt
confident in their financial knowledge, while
29% said they lack confidence due to not being
taught the topic in school. A whopping 82% of
respondents said they feel too intimidated or may
feel too intimidated to seek financial advice even
if they needed it.

Time flies when your having fun! It was 35 years ago on this day that I went full time with Lutheran Brotherhood as an insurance agent and financial professional. My brother had been with AAL in 1977 and in 1987 he joined LB in management and encouraged me to join ( I grew up with AAL in my church an never even heard of LB 😂 In 1996 both my wife Susan Mallonee Heuer and my sister Mary -Ann joined LB and in 2001 LB and AAL merged into Thrivent for Lutherans. In 2009 I was inducted into the “Hall of Fame” and in 2014 I was inducted into the “Hall of Fame” for Charitable giving ( Then InFaith) In 2016 we retired and started Pinnacle Financial- 100% Independent and still continuing our service to help others. They say “ time flies when you’re having fun “ it is really true! We are blessed that we are still enjoying everyday, sadly my sister Mary-Ann died in 2004 and my brother Will Wilfred Heuer is in a VA nursing home.

Today I received my membership in the MDRT Top of The Table award which is the highest honor achievement representing the top 1% of all financial professionals in the world. This is my 7th time qualifying and my 31st year of membership.

LOWS AND HIGHS - The Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq,
Wilshire 5000 and Russell® 2000 all hit bear market
lows on 10/9/02. The S&P 500 gained 102%, and the
Nasdaq gained 152% from that low point before
peaking five years later on 10/9/07 (Source: BTN
Research). Bottom Line this current market condition will require Patients!

EARLY RETIREMENT - A new study found
that late-life disabilities force early retirement.
1 in 4 workers who are still healthy in their
mid-50s will experience a disability in the
next few years that will make working more
difficult. Nearly 75 percent of workers who
experienced a new disability in their late 50s
or early 60s left the labor force before their
full retirement age. Among the people who
didn’t have a disability, only a 33 percent
stopped working (source: Center for
Retirement Research at Boston College).
