Labor cost percentage is one of the most important numbers in your restaurant, and one of the easiest to lose track of week to week.

It's baked right into our Small Business Package, alongside your monthly payroll and financials, so you're never guessing.

"I'll just pay it all in April" is one of the most expensive tax strategies out there…literally. The IRS charges penalties for underpayment throughout the year, not just for paying late.

Estimated quarterly payments aren't optional busywork, they're how you avoid paying extra for the privilege of waiting.

Not sure if you're on track? Let's check.

Outgrowing your bookkeeping? It happens quietly, bigger decisions, thinner margins to track, more moving pieces, until one day "just keeping the books" isn't enough anymore.

This week's video covers the signs it's time for real advisory support.

Thinking about bringing on an associate or exploring a group buy-in? Your entity structure matters more than most practices realize, the wrong setup can mean paying more in taxes than you need to.

We put together a free guide: "Five Questions You Should Be Asking Your CPA."

"Reconciled" and "reviewed" are not the same thing, and the difference matters more than you'd think. A reconciled bank feed just means the numbers match. A reviewed set of books means someone actually checked that transactions are categorized correctly and nothing's been missed.

Clean-looking books can still be wrong books.

Reacting to your numbers every month instead of planning around them? You're not alone, but there's a better way.

This week's video walks through how we build a 12-month cash forecast with clients instead of just looking backward.

Multi-project construction books are messy by nature, different job sites, different costs, different timelines. If reconciliation only happens once a year, you don't find out a job went over budget until it's way too late to fix it.

Our Small Business Package + advisory support gives contractors job-costing visibility and monthly reconciliation, so you catch the problem while there's still time to act.

Quick payroll gut-check: do you know the difference between a 1099 contractor and a W-2 employee? Misclassifying someone (even by accident) can mean back taxes, penalties, and a headache you didn't see coming.

Two-question test: Do you control HOW the work gets done (not just what)? Do they only work for you? If you're nodding yes to both, they might actually be an employee.
Not sure where you land? We'll help you sort it out.

"We're busy but broke." We hear this from business owners more than you'd think and it usually comes down to cash flow, not profit.

In this week's video, we break down the 3 numbers we check first when a client says this to us. Watch below, and if any of these numbers sound unfamiliar, that's a sign it's time to talk.

Running a restaurant means your margins move every single week…food costs, labor, slow nights, big nights. If your books only get touched once a month (or once a year), you're flying blind.

Our Small Business Package bundles monthly bank reconciliation, monthly financials, payroll, and your year-end business tax return into one flat fee, so you always know where you stand, not just where you stood three months ago.
