🚨 Tax filing alert – read this 🚨
Effective December 24, 2025, USPS officially confirmed that a postmark is NOT guaranteed to be the day you dropped your mail off. It may be stamped days later during processing.
Why this matters
📌 The IRS relies on the postmark date under 26 U.S. Code § 7502
Not when you mailed it. Not when you thought it went out.
Real example
🗓 You mail your tax return on April 15
📮 USPS processes it on April 17
📌 Postmark shows April 17
🚫 IRS treats it as late → penalties + interest
This is exactly why I say
✔️ File with my team
✔️ E-file whenever possible
✔️ No postal delays. No guessing. No stress.
Deadlines don’t care about intentions.
We file it clean, documented, and on time.
