You may have heard many things about the BOIR requirement since we sent the previous email. I am writing once again because I feel responsible to keep my many business tax and accounting clients informed of important developments that can impact them financially. Here are the facts about BOIR.

1. The BOIR filing requirement is NOT a scam.
2. A Federal judge in Texas ruled it unconstitutional and subsequently the requirement was lifted.
3. Another judge has overruled the first one, and the requirement is back on, but the deadline has been extended.
4. The new deadline is January 15, 2025.

My opinion is that there may be additional rulings that will come down the pike, but eventually the requirement will stick. Therefore, my advice would be to go ahead and get it filed by the deadline and you no longer need to worry about missing it and being subject to very substantial penalties.

I have already filed a number of them and can do yours. However, I need to hear from you ASAP or we will run out of time.
