When starting or restructuring a business, choosing the right legal structure is more than just a formation step — it’s a decision that can influence taxes, liability protection, and administrative responsibilities for years to come.

Your business structure determines how income is taxed, which tax returns must be filed, and how responsibility for business obligations is handled. Swipe for a brief overview of each structure and their tax implications.

Since businesses evolve and tax laws change, the structure that works well early on may not always remain the best fit as revenue grows, ownership changes, or long-term plans develop. If you’d like to review your current tax exposure, our team can help you evaluate your current tax situation and talk through when a change might make sense. Just give us a call, and we can find a time to connect.

With tax day quickly approaching, we wanted to share a timely tax season reminder about filing extensions.

Filing IRS Form 4868 gives you until October 15, 2026, to submit your federal return. Just remember: If you owe taxes, payment is still due by April 15th to avoid any added fees.

There’s no penalty for requesting an extension and filing late, so it’s best to take the time you need to make sure your return is filed properly.

If you’re considering an extension, don’t wait to reach out; you must file for it by April 15th to receive it. Give us a call today! We are here to help.
