We are proud to announce the successful sale of United Services (USI) to Kelso Industries. Rodefer Moss Transaction Advisors (RMTA) served as the sell-side advisor on this transaction, helping USI Owner Shane Edmonds navigate the process from pre-market to close.

Founded in 2001 in Knoxville, TN, USI has grown from a single-trade electrical contractor into a leading multidisciplinary MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) services provider that employs approximately 160 people and serving commercial customers across six southeastern states.

Kelso Industries, a national MEP platform based in Draper, Utah, is the perfect strategic partner to support USI's continued growth while preserving the strong foundation Shane and his team have built.

We are honored to have advised the USI team on this milestone transaction and wish the combined company continued success in this exciting next chapter.

Our Knoxville team arrived this week to find the office transformed into an Easter wonderland, courtesy of our mascot who apparently thinks she's the Easter Bunny now.

We have to admit, she did a pretty amazing job with the decorations. Though we're still not sure how she managed to hang those streamers with wings...

What Emilee values most at work: solving problems alongside people who know math doesn’t lie and that sarcasm is a survival skill. She’s here for the hard work, the people who show up, and leadership that’s real.

One moment that shaped her as a leader was realizing people were looking to her for answers - not just asking her to run the numbers. That’s when she learned leadership is less about perfection and more about confidence, clarity, and staying calm under pressure.

Outside of work, Emilee stays grounded through youth sports, where life lessons are taught on the field, in the gym, around the track - and sometimes from the sidelines.

This Women's History Month, we applaud leaders who push progress forward and make space for what leadership can look like.

For Heather, leadership is about valuing people, building trust, and paying forward the opportunities created by those who came before her. Over 17 years with the firm, Heather has focused on fostering strong team environments and cultivating long term relationships grounded in honesty and mutual respect.

Her advice to women early in their careers?

“Don’t assume you’ll automatically get what you deserve; advocate for yourself and ask for it.”

Heather is proud of the long-term relationships she’s built - with colleagues, clients, and her community. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her with her husband and kids, whether that’s at a sporting event, on the water, or enjoying a quiet day at home.

Strong leadership, meaningful relationships, and staying grounded - that’s Heather.

Becoming an audit partner was meaningful not just for the title, but for everything it represented: years of learning, building trust, and working alongside incredible people.

Her advice to women starting out: speak up sooner, ask the question, and don’t wait until you feel ready; confidence comes with action.

At work, Sarah is passionate about developing strong teams and helping future leaders grow with confidence. Outside of work, she's known for turning “just bring some meat and cheese” into a full charcuterie masterpiece.

Our new Tax Intern is a UT Knoxville student studying Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Information Management, graduating this May! From Huntsville, AL, Jace was drawn to RM's amazing culture and work environment that fosters productivity and effective learning.

When he's not diving into tax work, you'll find Jace cheering on UT sports or spending time with his pets!

Jace chose RM because our Knoxville tax team is exceptional and he loves the work-life flexibility we offer. His big dream? To own and operate his own firm one day - we love that entrepreneurial spirit!
