Attention procrastinators! I’m going to go ahead and place a March 31 arrival deadline if you have any ambitions of having your tax return completed prior to the April 15 deadline, otherwise extensions will be in play. Everyone else who still has stuff here I’m working through stuff as quickly as possible so be patient as we continue to get through lotsa people!

I may have missed the memo but apparently tax season has commenced. I was wondering why everyone was bugging me last week. Evidently the State of Iowa and my software company also missed that memo as I am still awaiting e-file clearance for Iowa income tax filing. In their defense this is the year in which many of the new Iowa tax laws go into effect related to the tax bill passed a couple years ago by the Kim Reynolds administration. So there are many subtle behind-the-scenes type changes that didn’t necessarily make the evening news going into effect this year, which means a lot of new software programming for both the state and software providers to deal with. In order to avoid further bottlenecks we will start pushing out tax returns this week for those that I feel comfortable that at the least everything pertaining to your tax return is calculating correctly. So we’ll go ahead and get the ball rolling and I will be dealing with the actual Iowa e-filing when I have received the appropriate software patches. Stay tuned for further developments!

Attention sprint car fans and nerds! We have a sweet online auction currently housed in my office featuring a ton of sprint car memorabilia pieces, toys, records, rock memorabilia, baseball and basketball cards, and other stuff you need. All the sprint car stuff is driver signed mint condition items consigned from a local collector who evidently liked some guy named Steve Kinser, among others. Check out the link below, auction starts closing 6pm this Saturday. I’m currently taking absentee bids so if you don’t want to hassle with setting up an online account message me and I can get max bids placed on your behalf. Enjoy!

I hope you’re all doing well! I’d like to get started with the upcoming tax season scheduling now as I anticipate a busy season and would like to start planning my admin staffing accordingly. You can book directly from my page here, otherwise call the office at (641) 842-5912 or feel free to stop by. MWF from 9-5 are currently the best times to catch me in the office. If you do not require an appointment and plan on dropping info off, let me know so we can plan for that as well. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your summer!
