Edgar M. Johnson, Jr. began the practice as a sole proprietor in 1973. In 1983, Debbie J. Burgess became a partner, and the firm name was changed to the more recognized Johnson, Burgess & Company. Over the years, the firm has grown steadily and rapidly, and in 1996 the firm name was changed to Johnson, Burgess, Mizelle & Straub. The firm now employs 7 CPA’s and 13 non-licensed staff to service a continuously growing clientele.
