Taxpayers receiving a "Status Not Available" message on the IRS's Get My Payment tool will not get a stimulus check and will need to claim a tax credit.

Governor Roy Cooper just stated that they just received new guidance on how to disburse the federally promised $600 weekly unemployment benefit.

He said that should start happening by end of next week.

Most of you know that tax filing day is extended to July 15, 2020.

The US Treasury is eliminating the interest and penalty until July15th, but NC DOR is only alleviating the penalty. They say it is against state law to stop the interest. So interest will be calculated beginning April 15, 2020.

Also-if you have already filed your taxes electronically and you wish to cancel or change the payment assigned at preparation time, let me know. We can change/cancel that payment set up for April 1 or April 15th to July 15th.
