Help us Celebrate Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor the strength, resilience, traditions and cultures of Indigenous peoples across the country. At Goldbelt, we want to celebrate the people who carry our heritage forward every day: our shareholders.

This year, we invite Goldbelt shareholders and descendants to help us celebrate Native American Heritage Month by sharing photos that reflect our culture, families, communities, and our connection to place. We would love to share photos of regalia, subsistence activities, cultural gatherings, family traditions, artwork, language learning, community events or other moments that honor who we are and where we come from.

Selected photos may be featured on Goldbelt’s page throughout November as part of our Native American Heritage Month celebration.

To submit a photo, please email it to [email protected]. Please include your name with a brief description of the photo, and the names of anyone pictured who should be identified.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Native American Heritage Month together.

Goldbelt Supports Juneau Parks and Recreation, 2026 Walk Southeast

Goldbelt teamed with Juneau Parks and Recreation on the 2026 Walk Southeast initiative to encourage residents to get out and enjoy nature—and maybe win some fabulous prizes in the process. Goldbelt’s supported My Virtual Mission app, that helped participants clock their milage over the summer.

The annual event challenges participants to complete the equivalent of the 297-mile trek from Juneau to Ketchikan between May 1 and Sept. 1. Miles walked, run, or hiked were tracked through an app supported by Goldbelt. This year, 1,991 people registered for the challenge across Southeast Alaska: 1,453 from Juneau, 170 from Ketchikan, 143 from Petersburg, 139 from Sitka and 66 from elsewhere in Alaska. More than 460 people completed the full 297-mile virtual trek from Juneau to Ketchikan.

We also supported the team Lynn Canal Adventures that collectively walked 6,320 miles (while consuming 499 bananas). One participant commented, “Thank you Goldbelt for your support. My summers are healthier because I am motivated to walk more.”

Goldbelt was happy to partner with Juneau’s Parks and Recreation to help encourage a stronger and healthier community. Goldbelt is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our shareholders and the communities they call home.

Thanks to All Those Who Donated in Support of Southeast Alaska Food Bank

Goldbelt teamed with Southeast Alaska Food Bank for the month of September, Hunger Action Month to help bridge the gap that often happens from back-to-school through the holidays. Food insecurity often increases in Juneau as people transition from seasonal work. This fall, the situation was compounded by changes in Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility rules.

The Goldbelt community stepped up to aid the Southeast Alaska Food Bank during this time of need. To help fill the gap leading up to the holidays, Goldbelt made a $5,000 donation and our community donated more than 265 pounds of non-perishable food. Thank you to our shareholders, descendants and employees who contributed. Your generosity reflects the strength of the Goldbelt community and our commitment to creating a strong, supportive community.

For those who would still like to contribute, donations to the Southeast Alaska Food Bank can be made through the following link: www.sealaskafoodbank.org/donate.

Blessing and Dedication of Goldbelt Áakʼw Tide

Gunalchéesh to everyone who joined us at Statter Harbor to bless and dedicate Goldbelt Áakʼw Tide, the newest addition to Goldbelt Transportation’s growing marine fleet.

Guided by the theme People of the Tides, the gathering honored the Áakʼw Ḵwáan, recognized safe passage, celebrated the shareholders and descendants who helped name the vessel, and welcomed Goldbelt’s newest catamaran into service.

This milestone expands Goldbelt’s marine transportation capacity and creates opportunities for continued business growth, including future connections to Goldbelt Aaní.

We are grateful to the Elders and cultural knowledge bearers, Board and leadership, captain and crew, employees, partners, shareholders, descendants, and families who made the day meaningful.

From Goldbelt Extern to Construction Apprentice!

Goldbelt’s internship and externship programs are designed to help shareholders and descendants explore career paths aligned with their interests, education and professional goals. Sometimes, that experience becomes the start of something even bigger.

For Goldbelt shareholder Salici Purser, an externship placement with Cornerstone General Contractors, Inc. did just that.

Salici, a second-year Construction Technology major at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, joined Cornerstone through Goldbelt’s 2026 externship program. Following his summer experience, Cornerstone hired him as an apprentice while he continues his education. Cornerstone is also sponsoring his participation in Carpenters Local 1281 based in Anchorage.

It’s a great example of what can happen when education, experience and opportunity come together.

Whether students are still finding the right major, studying their passion or prepared to start their career, Goldbelt’s internship and externship opportunities can help connect their interests and goals with meaningful professional experience.

Does this sound like a Goldbelt shareholder or descendant in your family? You know their potential. Goldbelt can help them discover opportunities to turn their potential into experience. https://ow.ly/3VWo50ZU587
