Pennsylvania businesses are paying attention to a number that keeps getting smaller.
The state’s Corporate Net Income Tax rate is now 7.49%, down from 7.99% last year. And it isn't the end of the story - the rate is scheduled to continue declining, reaching 4.99% in 2031.
That may sound straightforward, but tax changes rarely exist in a vacuum.
For a business owner, a changing tax rate can factor into decisions around timing income, making capital investments, managing expenses, using losses, or deciding when to make larger business moves.
And with year-end approaching, those decisions are becoming more immediate.⏲️
The important question isn't simply, "Will I pay less tax?" It's "What should I be doing differently because the rules have changed?"
That's where good tax and accounting conversations become valuable - especially when Pennsylvania rules and federal rules don't always move in lockstep.
November is a good time to start looking at the numbers before December decisions become January regrets.
