The 2026 dog tag sales end February 28. Tags purchased after February will double in price due to statutory penalties.

The Lawrence County courthouse will open 2 hours late tomorrow, February 4, 2026, to allow maintenance time to clear parking and sidewalks.

The dog tag sales are reopened. You can purchase your tags until 2/28/26 at the regular price of $16. After 2/28/26 the price will double due to penalties mandated by state law.

The Dog Tag system will be unavailable from February 1 through February 3.

Due to recent inclement weather, the Lawrence County Commissioners intend to extend the dog tag season through February 28, 2026. However, the Commissioners cannot formally approve the extension until their meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Without approval of the extension, dog tag fees will automatically double beginning February 1.
