Frugaling Because money doesn't grow on trees... It's time to start saving now, to enjoy the future! I had amassed a small fortune in only two years of graduate school.

Back in May, 2013, I was on a runaway course to a life of debt and interest payments. As a student, I had been taking out as much student loan money as I could every semester. That’s when the idea for a website came about, and I decided to start Frugaling. Frugaling is a verb that means: the act and art of maximizing your budget and minimizing costs. It’s a thoughtful and purposeful activity that

helps you right your financial course and see a better future. Becoming more frugal is about pursuing a more subtle financial path now for greater rewards over time. Rather than an instantly gratifying experience, Frugaling helps you save for tomorrow while enjoying today. Our system of credit debt and student loans is crumbling before our eyes. America has over $1.1 trillion in student loans and over $850 billion in credit card debt. The simple answer is that this is unsustainable. Even if Congress acts to stop the burgeoning load of debt, we will continue to see defaults and bankruptcies. It’s up to us. The simplest action is doing little to nothing. Stop buying, driving, and consuming. Become protective of your money and conscious of where you spend your capitalistic dollar or vote. Frugaling is a financial source with an eye towards systemic issues that affect others’ ability to be more conscious spenders.
