This week we are excited to introduce Laura Beth Hancock. Laura Beth joined Womack & Associates as a spring administrative intern in 2021 and returned in the summer of 2021 as an accounting staff member. She focuses on QuickBooks, payroll, and other accounting services. She is currently working towards her Alabama CPA certification. Laura Beth resides in Scottsboro, Alabama, and has two dogs and one cat.

“Womack & Associates is more than a job I accepted; it is a family I joined. Since my first day I have felt welcomed by each person in the firm. I started at W&A during the 2021 tax season as the administrative intern. During my time as an intern, I quickly realized that W&A is where I wanted to start my career in accounting. After my internship ended, I was hired as part-time to do monthly accounting/bookkeeping services. I am now a full-time employee at W&A and I wouldn’t want to start my career in accounting anywhere else. Our favorite motto to use is “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Everyone at W&A is truly there to help out everyone in the firm so that our clients receive the highest quality of service.”

On this week's Meet the Team series we have Darla Nash. Darla joined Womack & Associates in 2015 bringing with her over 17 years of experience in tax compliance and planning for small businesses, high net worth individuals, estates and trusts. She also provides accounting services for small businesses and individuals.

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Gail Wall. Gail joined Womack & Associates in 2014 and provides over 40 years of experience. Gail has a wealth of experience in the accounting industry and has established herself as an individual tax expert.

This week we celebrate our friend and teammate Stephanie Kingsford, Stephanie joined the firm in 2008 and provides over 24 years of experience with various large firms in the Southeast United States.

After 14 years on the W & A team, she says: “The firm pours into us as individuals and as employees which sets us apart from other firms. Whether it is helping with a personal issue at home, making sure we feel heard in our suggestions to better the firm or ourselves, or pushing us through mentorship and classes in ways we didn’t even know we needed to be pushed, the firm really tries to create an atmosphere of overall growth. The firm sets high standards for its treatment of its clients and its employees, and I am challenged in this environment to learn technical skills along with leadership skills as both skills are needed to continue running a firm at top capacity. We all understand that none of us are perfect. However, the atmosphere of a team working hard to do the best we can with client interaction and support for each other is at the core of the firm. Therefore, I don’t feel taken advantage of or misused as I know that I have the support of everyone. I can’t imagine working in a different environment.”

We're back again to introduce our next member of our Meet the Team series. If you visit our office, you’ll most likely be greeted by this friendly face 😄 

Prior to joining the firm, Kayla worked in accounts payable at a regional car dealership. She has a passion for helping others and also worked with adults with intellectual disabilities.

She has been with Womack & Associates since February 2017 and serves as the firm’s administrative professional, providing support for the team as well as clients.

Kayla says:

“The best decision I have ever made was changing jobs in 2016 to come and work for Womack & Associates. I have never worked with a group of people that are as encouraging and welcoming as this one. No matter what the day brings, we are always there to help one another out and encourage each other along the way. We are truly a family! I have grown so much over the last five years with the help of Lori (Owner) and Alexa (John Maxwell Coach) for always pushing me and believing in me when I didn’t believe that I could do the things that I can now while doing my job. Another reason why I love W&A is because we get to serve some of the most wonderful clients. You will form such a good relationship with them, and it is always so exciting for them to come in and tell you about their families, travels, etc. I also always enjoy our team outings and coaching sessions with Alexa. The outings are such a great way to stop and breathe and enjoy each other’s company and our coaching helps us grow, serve our clients, keep a great attitude, and manage our day to stay on track. We would not be the group we are today if it weren’t for Lori and her believing in each one of us and going above and beyond to make sure that we have the things we need to work each day and always encouraging us. I LOVE W&A!”
