Mr. Daniel Wilkinson is a US Army veteran with a passion for creating finely crafted wood furniture. Wilkinson was born and raised in the Houston area, and graduated from San Marcos Baptist Academy in 1993. Wilkinson has worked off and on in construction since his early teens. Daniel Wilkinson trained as a cabinetmaker under the tutelage of his father, Glen Wilkinso
n, and Artisan Carpenter Mr. James Norris Wilkinson who was a Master Cabinetmaker for 57 years. Wilkinson gained years of experience in construction working in the fine art industry before joining the US Army in 2003. While in the military Mr. Wilkinson became a US Army Infantryman and Paratrooper, and showed his skill in construction while on deployment in Afghanistan. Wilkinson was instrumental in the design and construction of Raptor Base (a Forward operating Base) in the Zabol Provence, in Southeastern Afghanistan. During Mr. Wilkinson’s second deployment Daniel was responsible for the supervision of all local Afghani workers, and maintenance of Able Main another FOB located in the Kunar Provence Northeastern Afghanistan. After exiting the military in 2008 Mr. Wilkinson attended MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institute) and became certified as a Harley Davidson Technician. The attended Houston Baptist University and received an Associates Degree in business and is working on a bachelors degree in Accounting. While continuing his education Daniel continued honing his woodworking craftsmanship skills. Since the death of Mr. Glen Wilkinson, Mr. Daniel Wilkinson has continued building chests, hidden firearm cases, and hand carved carvings as gifts and for sale. At the urging of his friends and family, he began Woodworks by Wilkinson. Wilkinson’s passion for building beautiful, durable, fine heirloom quality chests, firearm cases, and carvings is undeniable and unmatched.
