Beginning in tax year 2026, payors and employers are required to separately report qualified overtime compensation on the following Forms: Form W-2 (box 12, code TT); Form 1099-MISC (box 14); and Form 1099-NEC (box 1d).

Enforcement of collecting and remitting local sales tax in Philadelphia County and Allegheny Country begins October 1, 2026. If your business sells taxable products or services to customers in either county, you may now be required to collect and remit the applicable local sales tax in addition to Pennsylvania’s 6% state sales tax. Earlier this month, the IRS announced new standard mileage rates. Business mileage rates will increase from 72.5 cents per mile to 76 cents beginning July 1, 2026. The IRS announcement noted that the modification of rates is due to the recent increases in the price of fuel. In this week's WM Wisdom, we want to remind everyone of the rates for the first half of 2026 and the second half of 2026.
