For the first time since 2022, the IRS has adjusted the standard mileage rate mid-year, meaning 2026 has two different business rates depending on when the miles were driven.

January 1 through June 30: 72.5¢ per mile (business), 20.5¢ (medical/military moving)
July 1 through December 31: 76¢ per mile (business), 23.5¢ (medical/military moving)

Keep this mid-year rate split in mind when tracking mileage.
