Once again, Clay County Circuit Court Judge Michael McHaney ruled Governor J.B. Pritzker overstepped his authority in issuing multiple “stay at home” or lockdown orders to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
State Rep. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) took legal action against the Governor, challenging the orders on constitutional grounds. Bailey said the ruling is both a vindication and a declaration re-establishing individual liberties.
“Despite the Governor’s attempts to move the lawsuit to multiple courtrooms, including a federal court, the rule of law prevailed, and the rights of Illinois citizens were upheld today, said Rep. Bailey. “This is a good day for accountability.”
Rep. Bailey said now that the lawsuit is settled, he is encouraging people to be responsible.
“One problem with the Governor’s approach was that he acted as though he knew better how people should behave. Instead of presenting facts and calling on people to respond in a collaborative way, hard and fast rules were imposed,” added Bailey. “Moving forward, I want to encourage everyone to practice common sense and caution. Use social distancing and take other personal precautions in dealing with others.”

"The relevant provision of the latest and greatest executive order states, and I quote:

Public health requirements for individuals. Individuals MUST take the following public health steps to protect their own and their neighbors’ health and lives:
Practice social distancing. To the extent individuals are using shared spaces when outside their residence, including when outdoors, they MUST at all times and as much as reasonably possible maintain social distancing of at least six feet from any other person who does not live with them.

It certainly appears to me that our Governor is violating the executive order. Can we get the Attorney General to interrogate the Governor as it has private business owners? Can we get law enforcement to go advise the Governor any further violation of the executive order may result in his arrest?
