If you do not get direct deposit this year of your federal refund expect significant delays in your reufnd. This is the phase in of what will ultimately also be the IRS requiring taxpayers to pay all balances due electronically (the goal date for this is 2027 tax filing season).

Because I have had several emails and phone calls in the last week about this question. I don't know where this misinformation is being circulated, however you cannot claim a child on your taxes just because you pay child support. Here is the IRS's answer to that question as of today.

I opened my office in 2004 so I had really big plans for 2024 to celebrate 20 years. I joked with several clients and friends that this was the year I would "turn 20 and grow up". For many reasons, my year did not go as planned, however I ended my year by getting back on track with my goals for the next 20 years and by next summer I look forward to celebrating officially....
