The IRS will begin processing 2023 returns on January 29. If you are filing for certain credits they will hold your refund until mid February.

PLEASE read your pre-season letter and gather ALL of your documents. If you don't have your advanced child tax credit letter(s) and recovery rebate credit letters, the PLEASE go to irs.gov and set up your account to get them. It takes about a half an hour to set up your account and retrieve your documents. We won't have time for that during your appointment. Both spouses should do this, as the total from both letters will be needed to correctly file your return.
