This is right up there with those fraudulent ads pushing the ERC credit. The one where they tell you they will get you the credit you deserve, $26,000. per employee as a reward for remaining open during covid. Where they tell you even if your CPA tells you that you don't qualify, we will get you your money, your CPA doesn't know all the rules that were put in place..... just remember - A CPA is not permitted to work on commission, not permitted to take a % of any tax refund; and will always represent you if the IRS comes knocking......oh and we are required by law to protect all of your personal data and information; we are not permitted to sell your personal information to anyone, and cannot even share your tax information to anyone including financial institutions; lawyers, or even other family members without express WRITTEN permission by you, the taxpayer. Please, please, please be careful of the too good to be true scenarios........

IR-2023-40, March 7, 2023 — The Internal Revenue Service today issued a renewed warning urging people to carefully review the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) guidelines before trying to claim the credit as promoters continue pushing ineligible people to file.

FYI - this continues to be my biggest Pet Peeve......no, everyone does NOT qualify for the ERC - your CPA does know the law, and yes, if you qualify, we will tell you, and we will apply for the credit; not charge you a flat 30% on the gross amount of the credit, and we will represent you if you get audited........

Be aware of 3rd parties soliciting fraud regarding this particular credit. IRS has promised extreme auditing into these credits and has increased the statute to audit this credit from the normal 3 years to 5 years. Contrary to what these ads claim, your CPA does know all the rules regarding this credit, we have not missed something, and we will represent our clients if they are ever audited.
