A vulnerable post—which, if you know me, isn't something I do very often.
Some of you know parts of my story, and some of you don't. In my thirties, I found myself as a single mom going back to school. It wasn't easy, and I certainly didn't get there on my own.
I was able to return to school because of the support of my family, my community, and the scholarships that helped make it possible. At the time, I was living with my parents while raising my children and working toward a better future. It was a humbling season of life, but one that changed everything for me.
This year, I had the opportunity to give back by funding a small scholarship through the North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference. I believe deeply that financial literacy should be accessible to everyone, and supporting someone else's journey felt incredibly meaningful.
It may not seem like a big deal to some. I know my contribution wasn't the largest. But to me, it was a milestone. For the first time, I was able to give back to the kind of support that helped me get where I am today.
None of us get here alone, and I'm grateful to be in a position to pay even a small part of that generosity forward.
