If you’re seeing IRS Notice CP53E saying you need to provide correct banking information there is a good chance it is a scam.

If your information is correct on the return you filed or if you didn’t have a direct deposit set up at all beware.

You can safely create an account at irs.gov to manage your information and obtain actual notices the IRS may have sent.

• Our door will remain locked to restrict access. Please knock and stand back six feet. You can wait in your car if you like.
• We can not allow a line to form or have a group of people in our lobby area.
• We have spaced out our appointments, but we are trying to limit social interactions.
• We can facilitate remote access including using our online portal or mail. Additionally, we can schedule video conferencing.
• We will continue to work safely and move forward best we can because we believe the work we are doing is critical to the fully functioning economy of our business and individual clients.

Officially: July 15 is the new April 15 this year and NOTHING is due on April 15, 2020. If you owe money you have until July 15, 2020 to pay without additional penalty or interest.

Our team is working safely, but moving forward because many people are depending on us. We are prioritizing existing clients and tax payers who are getting a refund; people will need their money during these trying times. We are not scheduling face to face meetings until April 6 at the earliest. In the meantime, we will keep up with the news and make our best determination about safely versus economic calamity.

We are open for business and will move forward. We are taking everything seriously, but need to do what we can to keep commerce going during these troubling times. God Bless.

The Treasury Department issued guidance saying that taxpayers can delay paying some federal income taxes for 90 days but still must submit their forms to the Internal Revenue Service -- or officially request an extension -- by April 15.

Our office is remaining open, but we want you to know that we are taking the COVID 19 situation seriously. We will facilitate social distancing by working with clients remotely online, on the telephone and through the mail. I have staggered my appointments to be an hour apart and we are maintaining our personal environments as much as possible.

We are offering additional sick days to our employees if anyone needs it and encouraging everyone to stay home as needed.

Moving forward we will monitor the situation and make changes based on facts. Take time to personally assess your readiness for the situation and the ancillary complications that are going to happen as a matter of fact. Stay safe, love your people, and let's be good to each other. God bless.
