A new scam involves a mailing coming in a cardboard envelope from a delivery service. The enclosed letter includes the masthead and wording that the notice is “in relation to your unclaimed refund.” Don’t fall for it: https://ow.ly/t7Uv50P2K8k

Tax season is right around the corner start calling now to schedule your appointments for the end of January. Below is a check list of all items that you will need to bring in with you the day of your appointment. If there are any documents you do NOT have, please call the office at least 1 day prior to your appointment date to re-schedule.

• Social Security numbers of everyone listed on tax returns if you are not an existing client bring in your Social Security card.
• Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit or information to make a tax payment.
• Forms W-2 from employer(s)- We can NOT take Pay Stubs in place of your W-2
• Forms 1099 from banks, issuing agencies and other payers including unemployment compensation, dividends, distributions from a pension, annuity or retirement plan.
• Form 1099-K, 1099-MISC, W-2 or other income statement for workers
• Form 1099-INT for interest received.
• Other income documents and records of virtual currency transactions.
• Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement for Obamacare.
• Information to support claiming other credits or deductions, such as receipts for child or dependent care, college expenses or donations.
• If self-employed bring in all income and expenses.
