Concerning the third stimulus payment or EIP 3, I haven’t seen any forms or letters 6475 mailed out from the IRS yet. What I have seen have been letter 1444-C which was mailed out about the same time as the third stimulus was paid; around February/March 2021.

Confused about how West Virginia is handling the Unemployment Compensation Exclusion if you filed before they made their final decision, I have the answers! Contact me with questions or to file your WV Amended return to get the rest of your refund. If you had a balance due and paid it, you may be entitled to get some or all of that money back. Even if you or someone other than me filed your original return, I can still file a WV Amended return for you and my fees are very reasonable. Messenger is the fastest way to communicate with me.

The IRS and WV have extended tas season; creating a new deadline of May 15, 2021 (actually May 17, 2021 as the 15th is on a Saturday). The IRS is allowing most taxpayers to exclude up to the first $10,200 of unemployment compensation. At present, WV has not approved this exclusion. According to the WV state tax department, they usually follow the IRS but no official decision has been made. Maybe tomorrow...

Also, first time in many many years that you can claim up to $300 charitable contributions without having to itemize!
