Our Story

Burdick & Associates, P.C., (B&A) was established in 1978, with the primary goal of providing professional accounting, tax and consulting services of the highest quality on a personal basis. Whether your business is simple or complex, we have the know-how to serve your needs.

October 1, 1978-1982 Higgins, Merritt and Higgins

Ken Meritt and Rick Higgins, two friends and business colleagues at PriceWaterhouse joined Rick's wife, Gloria who had been practicing as a sole practitioner and formed a new CPA firm. They were together until 1982 when Gloria left to work for a client.

1982-1984 Higgins, Meritt & Associates

The firm continued to grow under Rick and Ken's leadership.

1984-2001 Higgins, Meritt & Burdick, P.C.

In 1984, Jim Burdick, another friend and colleague from PriceWaterhouse joined as partner and the firm became Higgins, Meritt & Burdick, P.C. For the next 22 years, the firm continued to expand with primary emphasis in the fields of oil and gas, and real estate.

2001-2009 Burdick, Meritt & Associates, P.C.

Rick Higgins left to again partner with his wife and their son who were developing a software company. Jim and Ken remained partners until Ken retired in 2009.

2009- Present Burdick & Associates, P.C.

Evolving with Denver's growing population, the firm welcomes three new partners, Kellie Burdick, Cindy McBroom and Theresa Williams. Together, they continue to be leading experts in the fields of oil and gas and real estate, while continuing to expand in other sectors as well.
