Update Stimlus info:
Returned Payment Details:
This means that we cannot process the EIP-2 for our mutual customers and the deposits will be automatically returned to the IRS. Based on information published on the IRS website, payments for returned deposits will promptly be reissued as a check or prepaid card and mailed to the taxpayer’s address on file at the IRS or, if applicable, a more recently updated address with the U.S. Postal Service. For the most current information on how the IRS will resend payments, go to the Questions section on www.irs.gov/eip. Taxpayers with returned payments will also be able to get updated information on the re-distribution of their returned payment on the IRS Get My Payment tool. We hope this information will be updated quickly but according to the IRS it could take up to 7 10 days for the returned payment to reflect the updated status on the IRS Get My Payment tool.
Customer Service:
Customer Service throughout Republic Bank is expected to receive an extremely high volume of customer inquiries so anything you can do to help answer taxpayer questions is essential. Other than confirming for customers that their payment was originally routed to Republic Bank in error and has been returned back to the IRS for redistribution to them via a mailed check or prepaid card, there is not much additional information we can provide.
Our IVR phone system for taxpayers at 866-581-1040 will confirm if their payment was originally routed to Republic Bank or not, and in cases where it was routed to us, an additional standard message will be provided that explains the payment has been returned to the IRS. Unfortunately, we expect to continue to have extended wait times for the next several days so please encourage your customers to be patient as the IRS redistributes their payment to them.
We’re committed to helping you get your economic impact, or stimulus, payment as soon as possible. See if you are eligible for an Economic Impact Payment.
