Food for thought: We have many clients that believe taxes have increased since (2018), (Republican was elected), (Trump was elected). I compiled a comparison from 2017-2021 for a single person & married couple with two children. Taxes decreased from 2017-2018; In the single scenario (image 1) 2.87%; married scenario (image 2) 2.91%. In 2020 the IRS made changes to the W-4 form (federal withholding). The updated form should have provided taxpayers the means to more accurately withhold federal income tax. The issue was taxpayers filled out the form incorrectly, which decreased the amount of tax withheld. In return, taxpayers believed taxes increased, which, in most middle-class income ranges the tax decreased. The most important thing to look at is the tax & effective tax rate (based on the ratio of tax to income). The proof is in the pudding. I am not advocating only educating.

Usually this post is closer to the tax season due date….better late than never. I want to thank Debbie, Jamie and Kim for all their hard work this year. Each tax season is different & never know what to expect. I am so surprised & relieved this year ran as smooth as it did! Possibly having clients inside, a procedure we stuck with, or possibly the culture in the office…“fantastic 4” is our new name. (I did not come up with it but I was included in the 4). 😀 These ladies rocked it as usual, and I appreciate each one of them every day.

We have 57 e-file forms that need signed; we can no longer call to remind you to sign. Please check your email for DocuSign or send the hard copy back. We are unable to send in your return without signatures. If you have already signed no need call or worry your return is filed.
We have over 75 started returns we are waiting on info for. It is important the information is sent over as soon as possible. The deadline is approaching quickly, and your preparers would like to finalize your return.

If you have not picked up your completed return...we would love to see you. Our hours are M-F 8-6pm & Sat 10-4pm
We close promptly at 2pm April 18th and remain closed until April 26th.

Christmas eve 7:30pm Sherri called and said the office had 2-3” water throughout. Turns out a pipe burst in a room. Rushing to the office I called FD. When I arrived, I walked into a complete mess…. totally devastated…. panicked & many other emotions. As my husband was home trying to prepare for our kiddos Christmas. I called my dad to help…..4+ hours later a majority of the water was out. Fortunately, zero data was lost, which is most important.

What to do next??? This is where it starts getting fun…trying to find a mitigation company…No chance as businesses were put second to homes, sudden freezing temps displaced many families. (Which, I completely understand, but did not help my anxiety)

(Yes, Debbie is still here…off season she’s at her beach oasis).

I am so thankful for everyone that helped bring the office back to life.…We had approximately 1 month to replace drywall, office furniture, equipment, carpet, & paint. Let me tell you this was not an easy task. Preparing for year-end & tax season is major job, plus attempting to have a somewhat normal workday… (which has been nowhere close to normal). Late nights & tons of tears have been shed, but I finally see a glimmer of light & look forward to this tax season.

Here’s to new vibes in 2023 & good riddens to 2020-2022 pandemic…. We are over it.

We are very excited for everyone to see how beautiful the office turned out.

Yesterday was our first day back after our tax season break. We are doing a lot of catch-up now. Unfortunately I am down two preparers which was unexpected one is sick and the other had a scheduling conflict. Hopefully everybody will return to the office very shortly to help me Jamie and Kim out.. Everyone’s patience is greatly appreciated.
