Over the past several years, I have worked hard to build both my business and my reputation on integrity, professionalism, and trust.

Many of you know that, in addition to owning my bookkeeping and digital organization business, I also serve as a Commissioner for my town. Public service often comes with differing opinions, and unfortunately, it can also invite attempts to discredit those who ask difficult questions or advocate for accountability.

Because of that, I want to address something proactively.

The confidentiality of my clients is one of my highest priorities. I have never shared, and will never share, client information with anyone who is not authorized to receive it. The trust my clients place in me is the foundation of my business, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

If you ever receive any communication from anyone that makes claims about me or Conquering Chaos LLC, I would sincerely appreciate you bringing it to my attention so I can address it through the appropriate channels. I believe the best response to misinformation is facts.

To my clients—many of whom have been with me for years—thank you for your continued trust and confidence. You know my work ethic, my values, and the way I conduct business. Your support means more than you know.

Hello all!

I apologize for dropping the ball on keeping up with my page.

It's budget time at Conquering Chaos, which means long, busy days.

I have noticed a significant increase in traffic on my page, in regard to views. Therefore, I figured I might as well send out an update.

Currently, I have a full plate, with my business and political, legislative responsibilities. I will be attending the MML Conference in OC this coming weekend/week, while my hubby holds down the fort at home, with our furbabies.

I am hoping to learn a great deal, and broaden my horizons, while making some impactful connections.

I am also dealing with a side of "the devil went down to Greensboro."

Recently, I have been approached about taking on new clientele. Currently, given I run my business singlehandedly, I do not have the capacity to take on more workload at the moment. Should that change in the future, I will certainly explore new clients. You never know when a business sale or retirement is on the horizon for clients.

It's been a busy season here at Conquering Chaos! Lot's of exciting things happening! Business is great. New learning opportunities. New teaching opportunities. Always growing/expanding in different ways.

I am excited the spring is around the corner and that we'll be out of official tax season before you know it!

Next month will be my 7th year in business! It's almost hard to believe in some aspects, yet feels like forever in others. I am so blessed by those who entrust me with their books. With over 30 years (I am aging myself) in finance roles, I still learn/grow every day. I never want to be stagnant. My inquiring mind never turns off. It has served me well!

It's been busy here at Conquering Chaos LLC. No signs of slowing down. I am blessed with an abundance of work, with some wonderful clients. I had a newly referred potential future client reach out yesterday, I have a meeting with on Sunday.

My husband and I are celebrating 13 years of marriage this weekend. We're really enjoying our new role as grandparents to our granddaughter.

I am running for commissioner in our town. I have been involved with town politics the past couple years. I figure I can be an asset to my town with my financial background.

Life is good and blessed!

It's not often these days I have an opening for new clientele. However, after this week, I have decided I truly want to replace a problem client. My husband was witness to some things this past week and said, "Kim, just be done with them."

I have been blessed to have all but that one client that appreciates and respects me and my hard work. I have dealt with it for a few years now and I just don't want to continue working for them. I started my business so I could pick and choose who I do/don't work for and not be stuck in dysfunctional work relationships.

So, if you know of someone looking for 10-15 hours a week in bookkeeping needs please keep me in mind.

I do have a couple leads already who have reached out, but I am not sure how serious they are at this point.

Today, I head home from a family beach vacation, feeling refreshed, even though I worked every day, because my clients businesses don't stop just because I am on vacation.

6 YEARS!!!

I literally can't believe it's been 6 years since I started up Conquering Chaos, LLC. I love my job(s), my clients and all the wonderful things that come along with being a small business owner (except paying my own health insurance 😂). None of it would be possible without the support of my wonderful clients, most of whom I gained through word of mouth referrals. I have done very little marketing, because fortunately I really haven't needed to.

Quite a few weeks ago, it was suggested that I apply for a paid position, which pays decent, but I just couldn't walk away from this business. I have worked hard, learned a ton (I thought I knew a lot when I started), and thoroughly enjoy what I do. I don't forget the times I couldn't say this, so I never lose appreciation for this journey.
