It’s an interesting perspective on success. I’m curious what made it so that millennials had a lower amount than Gen X.

Also, if you use 3% inflation from the last year of each generation you would get the following

Boomers (1964): $99k
Gen X (1980): $159k
Millennials (1996): $255k
Gen Z (2012): $409k

Thrilled to have been a part of this fundraiser last night in support of Oyster Recovery Partnership, Cool Kids Campaign, Semper Fi & America's Fund, and Harlem Lacrosse.

It was another epic evening with great food, tasty bourbon, and lots of fun in support of these fine causes.

My story if the evening is that I wanted a dark blue T shirt from Oyster Recovery Partnership. They let me know that the one I picked was a Women’s shirt, to which I said that I would still make it look good. So, I’ll let you be the judge by posting the pictures in the comments. Vote for your favorite... 😂🤣😂

We are excited to announce our grand total fundraising amount is $185,345 🎉 Thank you to our sponsors, restaurant partners, liquor purveyors, attendees and everyone who donated! We’ve exceeded our goal and it’s all thanks to you!!

My friend Sonita Reese shared this post from Connie (Wang) Steele speaking about how is being redefined.

I would say this falls in line with how retirement is being redefined by the current working generations away from just being a chunk of time to lounge in the twilight years of life.

I'm curious, what are your top 2 items from the list?

For those that are keeping track of when you need to start repaying your student loans, it looks like the restart date may get pushed again.

Payments on federal student loans have been paused for two years, and the Biden administration appears to be considering extending the pause beyond May.

Happy to share this 11- module college admissions course made by my friend Evelyn Jerome-Alexander of Magellan College Counseling. If you have a teenager headed towards college applications...I highly recommend you take a look at this important information!

There’s a fire hose of information out there about college admission – and not all of it is correct! After spending 10 years guiding high school students and their families through the college admission process, and publishing hundreds of blog posts about different aspects, I’m presenting all ...

Super Bowl 56 has been dubbed the "Crypto Bowl" with all of its cryptocurrency ads paying up to $7m per 30-second spot. Whether well-known or up-and-coming firms, they paid star sponsors like LeBron James and Matt Damon to tell you to jump on board for fear of missing out.

Before you go open a crypto account, please consider 3 things:

1) How much money are you willing to lose?
2) How much volatility are you comfortable accepting (in the last year Bitcoin has traded from $67,000 down to $29,000 and back again)?
3) How does investing in cryptocurrency fit into your financial plan?

As a financial planner, I am not looking to be the "fun police." I encourage you to contact your financial advisor before you dive into the pool of cryptocurrency investing based on a Super Bowl ad. Look before you leap ...

While I recognized the challenges that we face as a society as funding the goal of retirement has shifted to the employee/individual, for me an article like this speaks to:

1) Financial Literacy- A deficit in strong lifelong financial literacy education to reinforce or supplant what is being modeled at home.

2) Financial Planning- The mistaken thought that engaging with a financial planner should only happen once you have money. Some of the biggest financial decisions you will make in your life are made when you do not have much in savings.

3) Misunderstanding happiness- In your younger years, the purpose of good grades/achievement at school is easy to understand and measure (if not achieve). Yet, once you are launched into adulthood, people tend to equate happiness with acquisition and comparative lifestyle.

I hope that during the remainder of my career, both me and my industry can do things to empower individuals to better understand their purpose and how to measure success towards their goals.

Millions of Americans are expected to work later in life than ever before because they can't afford the alternative.
