Nvidia is now cheaper than roughly a third of the stocks in the S&P 500 but its revenue growth over the past 12 months of 65% is the third fastest in the index, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. By comparison, Palantir Technologies Inc.’s revenue expansion ranks fourth in the S&P 500 and its shares trade at roughly 98 times forward earnings.

Nvidia Corp. has one of the strongest growth stories in the market after posting blowout earnings on Wednesday. So why is it trading at a level that looks like a value stock?

Take note of this change in the Service’s processing of tax refunds.
IRS is phasing out paper refund checks to comply with an executive order
from the White House. Beginning this year, the agency will generally pay tax refunds
to individuals only by direct deposit or some other electronic method. Taxpayers
who don’t provide bank account info or request an exemption will face delayed refunds.
IRS is urging people without bank accounts to open one. The Social Security Admin.
is offering the option of prepaid debit cards to beneficiaries, but IRS isn’t yet doing this.

More chaos at IRS. It’s now on its seventh commissioner since Jan. 1. Billy Long, the latest IRS commissioner to come and go, was on the job for less than two months.

The new acting head of the agency is Scott Bessent, who will be doing double duty…leading the Service along with his primary job as Treasury secretary…until Trump picks another commissioner who is confirmed by the Senate.

This change in leadership couldn’t come at a worse time for IRS, which has a lot on its plate in implementing the tax changes in the OBBB,many of which take effect in 2025, in time for next year’s filing season.
