Happy National Coming Out Day! Today I had the privilege of attending an OutPro event focused on inclusivity in the workplace. What a great topic! It takes so little to make others feel welcome so I encourage everyone to add your personal pronouns to your email signature block today as a first step. As a cis-gendered person, like myself, you may think no one will confuse my gender and therefore it makes no sense to add. The thing is, it’s not for yourself but others. It’s a subtle way to communicate, “I’m a safe space.” A space where you can be there for someone who may be working through one of the deepest struggles of their life. Remember, being an Ally is not a title you can assign yourself, it is given to you by those in the LGBT+ community who see you live through word and action. Just some food for thought

I am very happy to share with you all that I have accepted a position as one of the youngest people to serve as a trustee on the Cherry Health Foundation Board. Today was my first Board meeting and the perfect occasion to share this exciting news!

Cherry Health is the largest non-profit health care provider in the state of Michigan serving over 60,000 patients. The organization ensures that comprehensive, primary and behavioral health care is accessible to all, no matter income or insurance status. I look forward to this opportunity and being a part of something so significant in our community!
